SINGAPORE — On August 4, 2024, the Shaw Foundation Symphony Stage at Singapore’s Botanic Gardens hosted the “Dreams of Tomorrow” VIVA Foundation for Children with Cancer Festa Concert. The event featured Singapore’s “Electro-pop Prince” Emiliano Cyrus and Malaysia’s “Iron Lung Princess” Lee Pei Ling, who were joined by U.S.-born Indonesian-Chinese musician Lullaboy, along with young artists from various countries and regions across Asia. The concert aimed to support children battling cancer, delivering powerful and emotional performances that deeply moved the audience. Among the attendees were Chinese Ambassador to Singapore Cao Zhongming, his wife Yang Qing, and diplomats from various ASEAN countries, who witnessed an evening filled with love and hope.

A Mission of Charity: Emiliano Cyrus and Singapore Sian Chay Medical Institution
Since July 2020 and continuing for five years, Emiliano Cyrus has served as the Charity Ambassador for Sian Chay Medical Institution, appointed by Dato’ Sri Toh Soon Huat JP, a renowned philanthropist and the institution’s Executive Chairman. This role has made Emiliano Cyrus the youngest Charity Ambassador in the institution’s 123-year history, entrusting him with the responsibility of continuing the legacy of Chinese cultural and medical traditions.
Since 1998, Emiliano Cyrus has actively participated in various large-scale promotional, charity performance, and outreach activities organised by Sian Chay. Notably, during the COVID-19 pandemic in July 2020, he collaborated with Sian Chay to host the “Warmth from Sian Chay Amid the Pandemic” charity live concert and headlined the “National Day Celebration with Sian Chay” charity event in August of the same year. These initiatives not only promoted Chinese culture but also conveyed warmth and hope to society.
A Global Voice for Charity: Emiliano Cyrus’s International Impact
As early as 2017, at the age of nine, Emiliano Cyrus had already made his mark on the international stage. He starred as the lead performer in Singapore Press Holdings’ annual children’s charity concert, “ChildAid 2017,” alongside 190 young artists, helping to raise SGD 2 million in donations. That same year, he was invited to participate in the United Nations’ inaugural “China and the World: Charity Gala for Children and Mothers,” where he performed a re-arranged version of the classic song “The Moon Represents My Heart” with Chyi Chin’s daughter, Chyi Xin.
In 2018, Emiliano Cyrus was a featured performer at the “Making Sian Chay More Beautiful Charity Gala,” where he performed “Wonderful” and the title track from his album “The Closest Embrace.” This event, which garnered significant support from Singaporean government officials, former beauty queens, and various community leaders, helped raise SGD 4 million for Sian Chay under the leadership of Dato’ Sri Toh Soon Huat JP, the Executive Chairman . In June 2019, he also partnered with the Love Home Rescue Center under the China Children’s Charity Relief Foundation, advocating for greater support for children with leukaemia and their families. Later that year, in September, he was named “Campus Charity Ambassador” by the Communist Youth League of China, serving as a spokesperson for the 9th National University Student Green Plant Adoption Campaign in Sichuan.
