Adeyemi Haastrup’s

For almost three decades, Adeyemi Haastrup has helped to improve Nigeria’s Oil & Gas industry, playing a key role in the extremely specialized fields of Non-Rig Well Work (NRWW). Starting out as a petroleum engineer, he has eventually risen in the ranks to become a leader who consistently pushes the boundaries of what’s possible in the industry.

Adeyemi Haastrup’s

Growing up in Lagos, Nigeria, Adeyemi was raised in a supportive family environment; his mother was a pillar of strength for him and his five siblings. Those who grew up around him noted his natural curiosity, and his family encouraged him to explore it through drawing and writing. Thanks to this encouragement, Adeyemi would later feel free to put his creative mind to use when developing innovative approaches to solving complicated challenges in the oil and gas industry.

In 1991, he earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from the University of Lagos and pursued an Executive MBA from IESE University of Navarra in 2002.

Adeyemi’s career in the oil and gas industry began as an Asset Team Petroleum Engineer. He held this position for seven years, during which time he built a strong foundation and gained hands-on experience in production forecasting, formation evaluation, and reserve estimation.

It was during his time working in NRWO (No-Rig Workers) operations that Adeyemi really made his mark on the industry. He was chosen to lead the team to help maintain output without having to drill new wells in the face of declining oil production.

Under his leadership, the NRWO team exceeded their targets and developed technical solutions that set new industry standards. For example, in 2018, when the business’s target was 3,899 BOPD, they achieved 5,859 BOPD, a trend that would continue with the help of Adeyemi’s innovative solutions.

The strategies that he developed were recognized by the industry at large, with his papers on the work being published by the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE). He received the “Best Conference Paper/Presentation” award from the SPE.

Adeyemi Haastrup is the Production Engineering Team Lead. His role involves managing the Non-Rig Well Work (NRWW) intervention projects for over 1,000 wells. He is also developing best practices to optimize field activities.

Even in his spare time, he is a proactive contributor to the industry’s growth. Adeyemi mentors the next generations of engineers to share his data-driven ideas and creative approach to resolve the oil & gas industry issues and improve future decisions and leadership.

Adeyemi Haastrup’s career proves that innovative thinking and determination can lead to remarkable achievements. His career path has been so successful that he has been able to not only drive growth but also contribute to significant improvements in the oil and gas industry.
